The Department of Medicine at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre is recruiting a locum general internist skilled in the management of complex inpatients. The ideal candidate will be hard working and proficient in managing busy inpatient and outpatient services.
- Manage complex inpatients in a tertiary regional referral centre
- Involved in the management of consultation service, general internal medicine ward service, and rapid access clinic
- Cover Mission Memorial Hospital, providing exercise treadmill tests
Abbotsford Regional Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with UBC, offering opportunities for bedside and/or didactic teaching of medical students, internal medicine residents, and family practice residents.
- Academic appointment through UBC
- Involved in the development and running of an inpatient General Internal Medicine unit for medically complex patients
The hospital has a multitude of internal medicine subspecialty services, including critical care, cardiology, nephrology, and infectious diseases.
- Separate family practice hospitalist service for less complex medical inpatients
- Rapid Access Clinic, Graduated Care Clinic, and Diabetes Clinic
