Job Summary

Polycon Industries, a leading supplier of automotive parts, is seeking a skilled Millwright to join their team. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing paint and assembly equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of paint and assembly equipment, including automated cells, robotic paint systems, and conveyor systems.
  • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance procedures, including rebuilds and overhauls, to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment on a daily basis, using your knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated systems.
  • Assist in the assembly and installation of equipment, and perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, working with the team to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Work within the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to complete all required work orders and associated documentation.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to 5S standards and other department and company standards.
  • Mentor mechanical apprentices as assigned, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them develop their skills.
Requirements
  • Millwright Certificate of Qualification 443A
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, automated cells, robotics, conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, cranes, and equipment
  • Experience with mechanical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, including experience with automated systems and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics, including mechanical layouts and process and instrumentation drawings
  • Knowledge of PLC, control systems, and robot programming an asset
  • Ability to work shift work and extended hours as required to complete assignments
  • Computer literacy with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Commitment to safety and a willingness to prioritize safety in all duties
