Job Title: Clinical Psychologist (PhD) - Med/Surg/Cancer Care, Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to join our team in the Medical/Surgical and Cancer Care, Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing assessment, intervention, teaching, research, and consultative services to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychological assessment and interventions, including psychotherapy, risk assessments, and make treatment recommendations to other members of the team and other healthcare providers.
  • Deliver programming with other members of the Multi-Organ Transplant Program to patients living with Advanced Liver disease.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology with a strong rehabilitation or clinical health psychology background.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP).
  • A minimum of 2 years training and experience working in rehabilitation and organ transplant programs.
  • Familiarity with behavioral or rehabilitation programming is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with surgical candidacy assessment, and other clinical health psychology assessments and interventions is highly desirable.
