About the Role

Inland Truck & Equipment is a leading provider of heavy-duty truck and equipment sales, service, and parts solutions. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician - Field Service Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer locations to repair and maintain heavy-duty equipment, including construction and forestry equipment.
  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Analyze customers' equipment performance complaints, diagnose the cause of any malfunctions, and perform repairs.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Examine assigned equipment to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
  • Test equipment when required.
  • Maintain company service trucks, ensuring they are kept clean and in good repair, including keeping the MVI current.
  • Become familiar with and comply with the company's Health & Safety Manual.
Requirements
  • Qualification as a Licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Technician is essential; Red Seal Journeyperson is preferred.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills to access and utilize required computer systems and tools.
  • Ability to proactively problem-solve and think logically.
  • Ability to self-manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 kgs or 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License and must be able to drive service trucks to customer locations.
  • Must have the mobility to easily access and egress equipment.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime when required.
