Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate midwife to join our team at WRHA Community Health Services. As a midwife, you will provide primary care to women during the childbearing year, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

About the Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing midwifery services in accordance with the Midwifery Model of Practice and the Standards of the College of Midwives of Manitoba
  • Working collaboratively with community and hospital staff, public health, and emergency medical services
  • Participating in professional activities to enhance competency and midwifery services
  • Working cooperatively within a practice group of midwives to provide equitable on-call coverage

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Recent midwifery practice experience that meets the College of Midwives of Manitoba's Standards for Currency of Practice Required for Initial/Maintaining Registration as a Practicing Midwife
  • Experience working with multicultural and disadvantaged populations is preferred
  • Graduation from an educational program approved by the College of Midwives of Manitoba
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and neonatal resuscitation certification (NRP) with intubation
  • Eligibility for Registration with the College of Midwives of Manitoba as a practicing midwife, supervised candidate, or exam candidate
  • Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver's license
  • Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team

Physical Requirements: This role requires:

  • Physical capability to perform duties under varying weather and environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry clinical and birth equipment
  • Ability to climb stairs with equipment
  • Owns or has access to a dependable vehicle
