Join CD PROJEKT RED, a studio renowned for creating immersive, story-driven RPGs, as we seek an Expert Technical Animator to contribute to the development of Project Orion, the highly anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Technical Animator to work closely with our leads, directors, and engineering teams to drive the development of animation systems for characters, vehicles, and weapons. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animation and be able to work independently to identify and solve complex technical challenges.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Develop and drive animation systems for characters, weapons, and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to create highly optimized animation systems.
  • Work independently to solve complex technical challenges and define technical animation processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Maintain the animation pipeline and communicate with other teams to ensure common goals are met.
  • Estimate and plan work with directors and production teams.
  • Mentor other technical animators, animators, and artists to foster a culture of creativity, trust, and excellence.
Qualifications:
  • At least 8 years of experience as a Technical Animator.
  • Expert-level experience with rigging in Maya and motion builder.
  • Expert-level knowledge of UE5/Blueprint.
  • Solid portfolio demonstrating expertise in animation and technical skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially with character deformation and physics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Positive attitude towards receiving feedback and exchanging knowledge.
  • Able to deliver and receive feedback in a productive and accountable manner.
  • Avid and passionate gamer.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with motion matching.
  • Scripting proficiency in languages such as Python, LUA, etc.
  • Prior experience with first-person AAA titles.
