Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Technician Supervisor to join our team at Velocity Truck Centres Canada. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of commercial trucks and trailers, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic and Repair: Perform all aspects of diagnostic and repair of commercial trucks and trailers, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Directly supervise and monitor technicians in the performance of their duties, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Dispatch and Scheduling: Dispatch technicians to jobs based on skill levels and training certifications, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Shop Operations: Direct the smooth operation and control of the shop workflow, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance activities, including inspections, checks of job progress and quality, and training technicians in quality assurance.
  • Tool and Equipment Management: Supervise the maintenance and use of tools and shop equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Commercial Transport Experience: Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of commercial trucks and trailers.
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal), Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
