Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at Tideview Terrace, a long-term care facility in Nova Scotia, to provide assessment, care planning, and intervention services to residents.
Tideview Terrace is a 90-bed facility that operates on an annual budget of $11M. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to improve, restore, and/or maintain residents' functional abilities.
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for:
- Providing assessment, care planning, consultation, intervention, and follow-up services to residents
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve strategic directions
- Developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet residents' needs
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution
- Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
- Demonstrated clinical experience providing OT assessments and interventions with seniors
- Maintain current certifications in CPR
- Knowledge and experience in a long-term care environment preferred
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Eden Associate, Vivage Neighborhood Guide, Person Centered Leadership Model, Art of Hosting, LEAN in LTC, PATH, and InterRAI
- Solid communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with others
- Service-oriented with ability to build relationships and create win-win situations
- Excellent listening, negotiation, team building, and problem-solving skills
Successful applicants will be required to submit the following documents:
- Criminal Record Check
- Proof of education and training certifications
- Proof of any additional required qualifications
- Valid registration with the relevant licensing body
- Submission of immunization record along with health assessment documentation
- Proof of SIN number
Hours of Work:
Permanent Part-time (40%) position; 16 hours per week
