The Opportunity:

Our team is growing and we are looking for a Soils and Aggregate Materials Laboratory Technician / Sample Receiver to join our group in Burlington, Ontario. Joining the Laboratory Group means you will have the chance to perform various material tests and handle the entire sample lifecycle, from receipt to disposal.

What to Expect in this Role:
  • Conduct lab tests on aggregate, concrete, and other construction materials as needed.
  • Handle shipping, receiving, logging, storage, and disposal of samples.
  • Assist in procuring and restocking lab supplies as necessary.
  • Participate in proficiency tests and uphold all required lab certifications.
  • Carry out certified tests accurately and efficiently.
  • Compile and interpret data, enter test results, and generate precise reports for review and distribution.
  • Maintain equipment calibration, upkeep, and general lab cleanliness to ensure a safe workspace.
  • Engage in quality audits and report any inconsistencies to the Lab Lead.
  • Collaborate with office staff, field technicians, clients, and other professionals.
Qualifications We are Looking For:
  • Completion of post-secondary technical education in Civil Engineering/Technology or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a materials lab (CCIL Type C) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and a penchant for maintaining an orderly workspace.
  • Ability to follow instructions diligently and work independently.
  • Team player attitude, assisting colleagues as needed.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced setting, managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Safety-oriented mindset, adhering to lab health and safety protocols.
