Salary:

Nunee Health Board Society requires a Massage Therapist. The Massage Therapist will provide a variety of massage services utilizing different techniques in accordance with patient care plans or as directed. This position is a contract position and will be for two (2) days/bi-weekly.

The Massage Therapist will be required to analyze patient reactions to provide desired outcomes for the treatments. The Massage Therapist will be required to and stay up-to-date with certifications, regulations and compliances and will be expected to establish and maintain open, effective communication between facility, clients / patients, physicians, treatment teams and nurses to ensure their effective completion of job duties.

Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one massage therapy to clients
  • Provide massage services using safe, appropriate and effective massage techniques.
  • Check clients' health history and update information prior to each session and ensure necessary precautionary action for massage prior to each session.
  • Consult with appropriate staff regarding treatment plans when necessary.
  • Explain procedures to clients and use techniques/massage styles according to client needs and preferences.
  • Observe client reaction to massage and make needed changes.
  • Perform all necessary documentation for each session following guidelines and procedures.
  • Keep and maintain records of clients and services provided.
  • Maintain a high level of client confidentiality and sensitivity with all client interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of massage with current Massage
    License (RMT) required.
  • Minimum 2 year working experience in medical based massage required.
  • Must be available to work a bi-weekly rotation of 2 days/week
  • Valid membership and liability insurance with a provincial association
  • Working experience in the health care industry preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift and support clients.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
