Job Summary
The City of Lloydminster is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Municipal Arena Operations Specialist. This is a part-time, seasonal position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to maintain the Arenas.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and Maintain Equipment
- Operate the Zamboni and edger to maintain ice surfaces.
- Perform daily custodial duties, including operating an automatic floor scrubber.
- Conduct mechanical checks of ice plant, boilers, and other equipment.
- Record Keeping and Maintenance
- Maintain accurate records relating to facility operations.
- Perform general light maintenance duties, such as painting and construction.
- Customer Service and Communication
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons, answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Communicate with user groups to ensure facility bookings are kept on schedule.
- Reporting and Safety
- Report all issues and concerns with equipment, safety, vandalism, and supply stock.
- Participate in building safety inspections and maintain records.
- Other Duties
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Education and Training
- Completion of a Level One Arena course is preferred.
- Physical Demands
- Must be in good physical condition to accommodate long periods of standing and lifting up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs).
- Skills and Abilities
- Capable of operating maintenance equipment and hand tools in an efficient and responsible manner.
- Neat and presentable in appearance.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills to interact with the general public and facility user groups.
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan with an acceptable Driver's Abstract is required.
- Pre-Employment Requirements
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Successful applicant must provide proof of qualifications.
- Applicants with international education will be required to include an Academic Credential Assessment with application.
