About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and performs patient care, technical activities, and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine and specialized ultrasound procedures
  • Ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures
  • Traveling to other sites as required
About You

We're looking for a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Sonography Canada certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Comprehension of technical language and ability to review manuals and participate in discussions
  • Previous experience and registration with multiple ultrasound credentials an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment full-time position with:

  • 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 18 months
  • Call back, stand by, and shift work required, including days, evenings, and weekend and holiday coverage

Compensation includes a competitive hourly rate and eligibility for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
