Reporting to the Manager, Valuations & Financial Structuring, NPK you will work within a high-performing, collaborative Corporate Development & Strategy (CD&S) group with a strong track record of supporting the business with outstanding financial modeling and analysis. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on highly strategic and impactful projects across various sectors (mainly chemicals manufacturing and mining) as part of a newly created centralized Valuation & Financial Structuring team.

What you will do:

  • Perform complex and detailed financial modeling and analysis, including valuation modeling, to support potential capital investments and other strategic initiatives.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Nutrien's business units to effectively support strategic investment objectives.
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize internal operating data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to obtain and validate modeling assumptions.
  • Develop, update, and maintain financial models.
  • Assist in preparing presentations for senior executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Present critical-thinking-driven insights and data clearly and concisely.
  • Facilitate effective communication between Nutrien business units and corporate decision makers to promote collaboration and information flow.

What you will bring:

  • University degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields. Enrollment in or completion of a financial designation (i.e., CFA, CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • 3-8 years of experience in corporate development, corporate finance, consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience or familiarity with commodities industries will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and financial and valuation modeling experience.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with financial databases (i.e., Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, etc.) is considered an asset.
