Job Summary
The City of White Rock is seeking a skilled Labourer I to join our Public Works team. As a Labourer I, you will perform a variety of labour tasks involving considerable physical effort performed in all types of weather conditions. Your duties will include construction and maintenance of roads, pavement, and asphalt installation; water, sanitary and storm sewer maintenance, pipe installation and repair; sign installation, performing cement work and concrete installation, including brick paver installation; operation of a variety of small equipment, hand tools, and performing routine equipment maintenance; performing maintenance inspections; and, truck driving. This position supports the solid waste division and may act as a relief driver for garbage, green waste and recycling collector roles. Working knowledge of the MMCD standards is an asset.
Key Responsibilities
RequirementsCompletion of Grade 12 supplemented with job-related experience;Considerable experience or training and knowledge of hazards and proper safety precautions;Class 5 Driver's license with Air Endorsement and proof of a safe and responsible driving record;Class 3 Driver's License or higher with Air Endorsement is an asset;Public Works related training, including Water Distribution Level I or Wastewater Collection Level I is considered an asset;Occupational First Aid (OFA) training is considered an asset.
