Senior Manager, Labour Relations

Responsible for ensuring compliance with legal requirements and corporate policies, while maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and manages company response to third-party organizing in retail, distribution, and other facilities by conducting day-to-day company response and associate education.
  • Directs efforts of first responders and other labor team members, manages readiness to respond to labor issues, and advises operations and human resources partners on lawful practices.
  • Manages labor relations risks and challenges, monitors and reports the impact of change initiatives on associate morale, and recommends best employment practices and communication strategies.
  • Assesses overall morale in the facility, provides trend information to local human resources, and collaborates with team members and leaders to define and execute divisional labor strategy.
  • Conducts and monitors compliance with management/supervisor labor training, coordinates labor training for new managers, and evaluates campaign effectiveness.
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others.
  • Evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, and participates in and supports community outreach events.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years' relevant experience in HR and/or labour relations
  • 1-3 years' experience in retail operations is preferred
  • 1-3 years' experience managing or administering collective bargaining agreements is preferred
  • 1-3 years leadership experience
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong influencing and presentation skills
  • Highly adaptable with a passion for learning
  • Able to travel as necessary to support the business
