Among your key responsibilities will include:

Management Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, including financial planning and analysis, to support decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial processes and achieve business goals.
  • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance department to optimize performance and effectiveness.

Financial:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and managing cash flows.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance within the organization.
  • Manage foreign exchange and government remitting.
  • Support administrative and financial duties of the finance department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is required.
  • Chartered Accountant qualification with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience. It would be desirable the candidate got their CPA in Canada.
  • 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, including Canadian GAAP/IFRS. US/Mexico accounting knowledge an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong ERP experience and advanced MS Office applications and Excel skills.
  • Manufacturing Business experience an asset.
  • Wholesale distribution experience an asset.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
