About the Role:This is a full-time regular position that requires a Bachelor of Science in Human Services (BSHS) or a related field. The successful candidate will provide clinical addiction services to a primarily adult population, with the possibility of working with youth as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide informational programming, individual and group counseling, and consultation services to clients and their families
- Assess individual and group needs and implement treatment plans to assist clients in reaching their recovery goals
- Develop, implement, deliver, and evaluate Addiction Services, including community resource development and education
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and treat clients
- Bachelor of Science in Human Services (BSHS) or a related field
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) membership
- Bachelor of Addictions Counseling is acceptable
- Intermediate verbal communication skills
- Basic interpersonal skills
- Intermediate written communication skills
- Basic counseling skills
- Basic time management skills
- Ability to prioritize work
- Knowledge in addictions screening, assessment tools, and procedures
- Ability to provide counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, and groups
- Ability to engage in community program consultation
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and modify programming provided to clients
- Ability to collect, record, report comprehensive client information accurately
- Ability to conduct a suicide risk assessment with other healthcare providers
- Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions
- Knowledge in assessment, treatment, and consultation
- Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
- Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources, and referral procedures
- Ability to engage in resource development within the community
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships/partnerships
- Access to a reliable vehicle is required
