Job Description

The Occupational Therapist will work with an interprofessional team in an outpatient rehabilitation environment to support the Step Up and Assess and Restore Programs. The individual will be involved in the consultation, assessment and treatment progression of individuals with cognitive, perceptual, psychosocial and physical impairments to maximize their functional independence. The individual will take a client-centered approach tailoring each rehabilitation program to suit the client's outcome goals. The Step Up and Assess and Restore Programs provide a continuum of care into the community through education and specific therapy aimed at gaining functional independence. Educational needs are supported by a Professional Practice Clinician.

Qualifications
  • Licensed with the College of Occupational Therapy of Ontario required
  • Minimum of three years' experience in rehabilitation, geriatrics and/or neurology preferred
  • Minimum of one-year experience working in an outpatient rehabilitation setting
  • Experience treating patients with neurological conditions is required *NDT/neuro training is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills needed
  • Must be flexible and show an ability to work independently and collaboratively with all team members
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Excellent employment and attendance record

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Additional Information

Site: Georgetown

Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour days (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $38.846 per hour to $54.782 per hour
