Job Description: Apprentice Agricultural Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic

Position Type: Full-Time

Overview: We are in search of a dedicated and driven individual to join our team as an Apprentice Agricultural Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal functioning of agricultural equipment, utilizing advanced tools and technology to deliver unparalleled service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspection and Diagnosis: Examine and diagnose faults in agricultural equipment, understanding the root cause of any issues.
  2. Equipment Repair and Service: Undertake necessary repairs and services to agricultural equipment, ensuring durability, safety, and peak performance.
  3. Tool and Technology Utilization: Make use of specialized tools, advanced technology, and innovative strategies to diagnose and carry out intricate repairs.
  4. Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks and activities according to stipulated schedules and standards, ensuring equipment longevity.
  5. Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated with the latest in John Deere agriculture products, ensuring you can provide top-notch service and advice to clients.
  6. Diagnostic Proficiency: Competently use diagnostic tools and basic computer functionalities to identify and rectify issues.
  7. Continuous Learning: Enroll in and actively participate in John Deere University training and dealer-led sessions to constantly improve and refine your skills and technical know-how.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in executing intricate service repairs and maintenance.
  • Preferred candidates should ideally possess a Journeyperson Agricultural Technician certification or a similar qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline, such as Heavy Equipment or Automotive mechanics.
  • Demonstrated ability to use diagnostic tools and understand basic computer functions.
  • A deep commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • A keen eye for detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Available to work long hours and overtime when required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
