This position reports to the Manager, Marketing Information Systems in the Toronto Marketing and Sales office. The business analyst is responsible for support work in Base Metals SAP system with focus in sales distribution and finance. The ideal candidate should have prior experience supporting SAP ERP systems and have a continuous improvement approach to working.

Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Support SAP systems to meet evolving business requirements of Base Metals Sales and Marketing, including incident support work in modules FI, CO, SD, MM, QM, WMS, and other areas in industry solution IS-Mine
  • Enhance and support SAP processes for multiple company codes, business areas and currencies
  • Analyze current business processes in SAP for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Work according to guidance from Senior Business Systems Analyst in improving SAP business processes and troubleshooting problems
  • Work with business users and process experts to identify and implement solutions
  • Engage with business units to manage and achieve service expectations
  • Assist in development of training programs and provide training to end users to ensure all procedures are understood
  • Assist in training the team of business function leaders for tier-1 system support
  • Resolve and handle incidents and requests reported by SAP users
  • Assist Senior Business Systems Analyst in support and development work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years support work in SAP ERP system
  • Demonstrated experience supporting SAP information technology in a continuous improvement function
  • Demonstrated capabilities in supporting SAP systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Self motivated and able to prioritize amongst multiple projects or tasks at once
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and sustainability
  • Team oriented with the ability to work collaboratively with personnel at all levels of seniority from other functional areas across the Company
  • Be adaptable to respond effectively and efficiently to changing environments and requirements as they arise
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion and must work well under pressure
  • Must be flexible and have experience working in a high paced environment
  • SAP ABAP programming experience is an asset
