SSR Mining - Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Resource Development Geologist.

About Your New Role:

Reporting to the Supervisor, Resource Development, the Resource Development Geologist, will be responsible for providing geological support to the Engineering and Mine Operations teams primarily in areas of grade control, stope design and stockpile management. You will also be responsible for supervising geotechnical staff and drill crews, as well as geological mapping, geological and geotechnical data interpretation, 3D modeling and resource estimation. You will also be responsible for compiling monthly reconciliation, drilling and QA/QC reports.

Your Key Responsibilities:
Ore body interpretation and block modelling.Identifying and laying out diamond drill programs.Providing guidance and mentorship to other team members.Oversee key projects.Geological mapping and specialized projects, interpreting and compiling geological and structural information, interpreting the ore body for integration into the geological model and management of sampling programs for input into resource models.Maintaining strong communications with the mining department.Performing geologic mapping, geologic and resources calculations, preparing and supervising drilling programs including geotechnical and geological core logging.Collect, document, and assess geological data within the mine.

Your Knowledge and Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Work both independently and within a team environment that is fast-paced, and a rapidly changing environment.Positive and proactive attitude towards safety.

Your Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:
Will have a B.Sc. in Geology, with preference given to candidates registered as a Professional Geoscientist in Saskatchewan.Minimum of four (4) or more years of experience in underground mining.Exposure to narrow vein mining.Experience with AutoCAD, GEMCOM, and Leapfrog are essential.

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
