The WHS Manager will serve as the site's designated first aid provider, coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Program. They will partner with the Operations Team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
The successful candidate will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in processes, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for associates.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with Amazon WHS Policies
- Measuring site performance against published requirements and identifying plans to address deficiencies
- Analyzing WHS metrics and reviewing incident trends to allocate resources to high-risk areas
- Performing frequent site WHS audits to identify noncompliant equipment and processes
- Auditing recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance with global WHS standards and regulations
- Ensuring site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy
- Working flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
A Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience is required. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
Key qualifications include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people is preferred.
Key qualifications include:
- Master's degree
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
- Certified Safety Professional
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability
