Child Protection Social Worker Assistant

Child Protection Social Worker Assistant position available to support Child Protection Regional Social Workers in providing services to children, youth, and families under the Child and Family Services Act.

This is a 12-month eligibility list that will be used to fill future similar vacancies within Family and Children Services.

The successful candidate will work in the city of Whitehorse, Faro, and Haines Junction, supporting day-to-day administrative and financial tasks, as well as assisting with case management and referrals for support services.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or certification in a post-secondary human services program, experience working with vulnerable children and families, and administrative experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Child Protection Regional Social Workers with day-to-day tasks and case management
  • Assisting with referrals for support services and coordinating case conferences
  • Providing administrative support and maintaining confidential documentation

Desirable skills and qualifications include:

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and within a diverse team

Conditions of employment include:

  • Vulnerable Sector RCMP Security Clearance
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Verification of post-secondary diplomas and certifications

This position requires willingness to travel within the Territory on an occasional basis and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
