Sonographer Job Description

The Canadian Diagnostic Network (CDN) is Ottawa's leading provider of Radiology & Imaging services, prioritizing patient care with personalized attention and respect. As a sonographer at CDN, you will conduct ultrasound scans for patients at our imaging center.

Requirements:
  • Completion of a recognized diagnostic ultrasound course
  • Active membership in the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Experience in MSK ultrasound or willingness to obtain certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in English and French is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Professional communication with patients, staff, and physicians
  • Team collaboration
  • Efficient and independent work
  • Maintenance of equipment and examination rooms
  • Utilization of PACS systems for data manipulation
  • Recognition and analysis of ultrasound images
  • Quality assurance testing and documentation
  • Infection control compliance
  • Continuing education requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged scanning and sitting
  • Assistance of patients
  • Movement of equipment
