Job Summary: We are seeking a Unit Clerk to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a Unit Clerk, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of the Manager Health Services or Nurse in Charge. Your primary responsibilities will include performing a variety of clerical tasks, acting as a communication link for the unit, and performing tasks for the care and comfort of patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of clerical tasks and act as a communication link for the unit.
  • Perform tasks for the care and comfort of patients, as well as routine domestic tasks to maintain the cleanliness of the area.

Requirements:

  • Previous related work experience is preferred.
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, is required.
  • Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant program or equivalent is required.
  • Medical terminology is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values is preferred.
  • Basic keyboarding skills are required.
  • Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written) is required.
  • General skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to the duties of the position are required.

Working Conditions:

  • The position may involve physical activity such as lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
  • The position requires the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
