Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) is seeking dynamic and motivated individuals to join our growing Canadian team as Interns in our Infrastructure Design Department.
About the PositionThis internship offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading-edge division of Kiewit, focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects. As an Intern, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working on various projects, including structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, hydro, and dams.
Responsibilities- Support pursuit and project civil/structural/roadway/hydro and dam engineering design work by:
- Producing simple design calculations and analyses
- Participating in the development of design deliverables, including collaborating with engineers and designers/drafters
- Support the development of the multidisciplinary engineering team by:
- Building internal tools and processes
- Developing design tools and standards with our engineers
- Gathering market intelligence
- Pursuing a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related degree
- Available for full-time work for a 4-month internship period
- Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Functional knowledge of French (written and verbal) is considered an asset
