Our Cost group are looking to add an Intermediate Cost Accountant to their growing team here in St. John's, NL.

What will you be doing?
  • Responsible for assisting the Finance Lead in developing ways to best manage financial and cost recording for multiple projects and identifying and addressing taxation issues.
  • Working within the Finance Department in all aspects of monthly financial reporting, including financial statement preparation, management reporting and account reconciliations;
  • Preparation of accounting transactions including bank reconciliations, review of accounts payable postings, month-end journal entries and monthly working papers;
  • Assist in tasks relating to cash management, banking activities, payroll and tax reporting requirements;
  • Assist in quarterly forecasting, as well as quarter and year end reporting;
  • Assist with various accounting projects and initiatives;
  • Experience with SAP an asset
We think you should have:
  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, a related discipline, or a combination of education and related experience
  • Membership in a recognized professional association and/or CPA designation is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in a progressive accounting role in the Oil and Gas Sector.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles (IFRS), payroll administration and applicable legislation and regulations required.
  • Experience with various accounting, payroll, and financial software programs an asset
  • Solid understanding of payroll accounting and account reconciliation process for payroll accounts.
