The Policy Associate role involves supporting the Governance and Policy portfolio, including managing provincial policy-related questions and concerns, developing and implementing corporate and clinical policy audit accountabilities, and providing executive and project support.

Job Description

The Policy Associate is responsible for performing key functions within the Governance and Policy portfolio, including:

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies pertaining to the Policy Office;
  • Establishing and managing processes to support the efficient and effective operations of the Policy Office in accordance with the SHA Policy Framework;
  • Assisting with the development and effective implementation of corporate and clinical policy audit accountabilities;
  • Collaborating and coordinating work processes with former regional health authority local policy contacts across the province;
  • Maintaining the provincial policy database;
  • Assisting with and monitoring quality assurance and continuous improvement in the policy development process;
  • Providing executive and project support to the Director, Corporate and Clinical Policy.

Key qualifications include:

  • 1 year experience as research/policy analyst or senior administrative assistant;
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in business, Public Policy, or Bachelor of Commerce (BComm);
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Bachelor of Administration is acceptable;
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable;
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
