We have embarked on a journey within our department and more broadly across the organization to transform the way we are conducting sourcing and vendor management and are seeking an Analyst, Strategic Sourcing.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

Market intelligence & Data Analysis activities to support category management strategies.

Key responsibilities (40%)

  • Research supply markets and industry trends throughout go to market exercise to demonstrate the benefits to Holt Renfrew, review market intelligence and analysis to anticipate price fluctuation.
  • Ownership on contract renewals schedule and contract mapping.
  • Prepare appropriate recommendations and presentations based on research findings and analysis across categories including refresh of spend cube.
  • Present reports to key leadership and stakeholders outlining current practices and specific recommendations for changes.
  • Monitor vendor performance and provide input to Sourcing Managers when required.
  • Assist in the development of new Sourcing processes, review Standard and Operating procedures to save costs and maximize value not limited to vendor management, contract management as well as implementation of a Contract lifecycle management tool.
  • Assist in profiling categories, reviewing spend, summarizing initiatives and generally being capable of producing insightful executive level power point presentation and financial analysis.
  • Seek for new way of working and deep interest in technology.

Procurement Fulfillment - (40%)

  • Act as a main point of contact and subject matter expert in supporting the business on purchase requisitions, purchase orders creation and issuance to suppliers in compliance with Procurement procedures and level of approvals.
  • Follows up on orders and coordinates the management of purchase orders internally and externally on a timely basis based on forecast and lead time.
  • Prioritize high volume of inquiries from the business (purchase request, purchase orders, cancelling and time sensitive orders, documents requirement and validation before approving the purchase order).
  • Work closely with business partners to understand their needs, keep them always informed, provide strategic advice on purchase, and educate then on all procurement process.
  • Work with the Store Operational teams from various stores across Canada to ensure contract terms, Service Level Agreements and escalations are understood throughout the sourcing/contracting phase and communicate their ownership of the contract upon execution.

Indirect Strategic Sourcing and vendor management (20%)

  • Assist Sourcing manager in conducting Strategic sourcing activities supporting the organization 's objectives for value -driven vendor partnerships and focus on risk management, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Working with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts contain all details of the negotiation.
  • Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns to determine the most competitive solution based upon a total cost of ownership from various spend categories (Indirect Spend).
  • Participates in supplier negotiations and contract preparation inclusive of Service Level Agreements and assurance of Key Performance indicators.
  • Seeking the active involvement of stakeholders who will be impacted by the decisions and/or plans of action.

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years in similar role and function preferred
  • SCMP or CIPS designation is an asset
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully balance multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and customer service skills
  • Action oriented, and comfortable taking calculated risks to better serve our customers and business
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Creative with the ability to manage in an environment of change and ambiguity
  • Ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with superior influencing skills, who build relationships easily across various stakeholder groups, including Executives, to move initiatives forward
  • Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.
