Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented P roject Designer to join our team The key responsibility for the Civil3D Modeler role is to support the BIM Manager and our Project Delivery Teams to develop the models for tracks, Roads and utilities in addition to the extraction of the sheets from the models. The Civil3D Modeler is required to possess strong computer CAD/BIM and technical skills to produce 3D/2D dimensional models required for model and drawing production, quality checking and control, coordination, and constructability analysis.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Support the BIM Manager and Project Delivery Team(s) in day to day BIM implementation activities.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the BIM Manager design-changes and model challenges.
  • Develop Civil3D Templates, subassemblies, pipe parts and smart blocks
  • Develop alignments, profiles, corridors and to be familiar with creating and consuming Datashortuct
  • Develop production template/title blocks
  • Perform cut & fill analysis and extract quantities from the models
  • Support the setup, development, configuration, establishment of the Common Data Environment (CDE) for Project use.
  • Perform as gate keeper for CDE (ProjectWsie and ACC) for their disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Control templates following the organization's and Project's quality procedures and the Project's BIM production methods and standards.
  • Measure and ensure the highest quality for all BIM package submissions in accordance with Project standards and requirements.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Control checks on models and maintain tracker (both hard and soft copies) to confirm geometrical and non-geometrical information compliance with the Project's design and BIM requirements.
  • Review, monitor and report on the development of clash interference and fully coordinated models.
  • Conduct clash detection and visual walkthroughs.
  • Prepare own discipline model and/or content for internal reviews and coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the BIM Manager design-changes and model challenges.
  • Prepare models and reports for constructability analysis.
  • Validate and export model geometry and data to schedules for internal design and commercial activities.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Control checks and report deviations of installation with approved coordinated models.
  • Monitor, perform quality checks and report on the quality of as-built models.
  • Monitor and support the data collection process and validate Asset Information Model (AIM) with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) requirements e.g. Construction Operation Building Information Exchange (COBie) and/or Client Specific requirements.
  • Monitor and validate the as-built model tagging with all related Project documents e.g. the H&S file(s) and O&M Manual(s) etc.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 15+ years experience within depth working knowledge of BIM delivery projects.
  • Rail projects experience is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of BIM codes and Standards (ISO19650, PAS1192-2, BS1192).
  • Knowledge of General BIM Model requirements (i.e., LOD, Naming convention, parametric modeling, etc.)
  • Able to demonstrate (skill assessment) ability to set up new Revit project files for the team; Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and multitasking ability; Produce Revit Families according to project requirements.
