About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Software Engineering Manager II to join our team at Toast. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the development of our restaurant platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in the development of our restaurant platform, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and UX, to define and deliver business outcomes.
  • Drive technical architecture, design, and build of features and improvements on our platform.
  • Ensure end-to-end delivery of software, including team ownership of monitoring and production issue remediation.
  • Coach and mentor team members in professional and technical development.
  • Hire and mentor team leads and senior technical staff members to ensure their success at Toast.
Requirements
  • Experience building SaaS products on cloud-based platforms.
  • Expertise in breaking down monoliths into microservices and solving for scalability.
  • Knowledge of and experience in building backend services and APIs.
  • Strong technical background with a personal preference for remaining technical.
  • Proven ability to influence decision-making at all levels within an organization.
  • Servant leadership mindset and subscription to Toast values.
