Personal Care Attendant
Permanent Full Time - FLOAT
(2 positions - Long Term Care)
Location: LSHC - Forteau, NL
PCN: #56252FLT/#56253FLT

The primary purpose of this position is to work as a member of a nursing team under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse providing a high standard of care to patients at the Long Term Care, in accordance with the LG Model of Nursing Clinical Practice. The employee is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for clients, families, co-workers and themselves and reports to the Site Operations & Manager of Long Term Care.

Qualifications:

" Graduation from High School or equivalency;
" Successful completion from a recognized Personal Care Program of equivalent;
" Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support);
" Breastfeeding education or willingness to complete within specified timeframe;
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check;

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

" Provides nursing care to patients;
" Responds to emergency and situation and codes;
" Assists with the orientation of new staff;
" Documents according to organizational policies and unit guidelines;
" Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;
" Transports clients and specimens;
" Other related duties as required;

Salary:

CG-24 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $22.41 to $24.69 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance

Hours of Work:
" 75 hours Bi-weekly; Variable shifts.
