About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of the Atlantic Region SCM Team, the Manager, Operations Procurement will be the leader of a multi-disciplined team of SCM professionals, ensuring that material purchasing activities for all Atlantic Region business requirements are conducted in strategic and timely manner in support of Operations.

This position will ensure that materials required to support Cenovus Atlantic Region assets are sourced according to agreed specifications from appropriate suppliers and in accordance with the inventory management strategy for Atlantic Region. The Manager, Operations Procurement will ensure positive relationships with material suppliers and will be responsible for resolving any issues that arise whether it be scope, performance or payment related. This position will also be responsible for the Master Data function in Atlantic Region.

What you'll do:

  • Leading a team of SCM professionals while developing strategy for inventory requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining an annual materials sourcing plan, in conjunction with SCM and other partners.
  • Developing and maintaining a five-year outlook of materials requirements for the region.
  • Implementing strategies for MRP improvement including development of materials agreements to streamline purchasing process.
  • Ensuring team sourcing activities are implemented in accordance with in accordance with agreed sourcing practices, Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Benefits requirements and COIMS requirements.
  • Conducting Supplier Performance Management meetings at a frequency agreed by SCM, Business stakeholders and in accordance with COIMS requirements.
  • Ensuring purchase orders clearly define expectations of suppliers, results, and any other requirements as deemed necessary to meet Cenovus's business standards.
  • Resolving purchasing issues whether scope, performance or payment related
  • Completion of quarterly reports.
  • Providing input to SAP requirements for Atlantic Region and ensuring participation in system testing as required.
  • Management of the Master Data function to ensure materials purchases are aligned with Cenovus quality standards and technical requirements.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business or related subject area preferred; a suitable combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • MBA would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management.
  • 5 years of oil and gas industry experience is an asset.
  • SCMP designation, or similar, is considered an asset.
