Aquatic Centre Leadership Opportunity

About the Role:

The Municipality of North Cowichan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinating Guard to join our team at the Cowichan Aquatic Centre. As a key member of our aquatic operations team, you will be responsible for leading, guiding, and coordinating on-deck aquatic personnel, ensuring the smooth operation of our aquatic programs, activities, and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the administration, promotion, and maintenance of aquatic programs and services.
  • Supervise and train casual staff and volunteers.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with user groups and the general public.
  • Prepare and maintain records, reports, and statistics.
  • Ensure the safe and secure operation of programs, activities, and events.
  • Enforce rules and regulations as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an aquatic leadership capacity.
  • Possession of required certifications, including National Lifeguard - Pool and Waterpark, Standard First Aid CPR C with AED, and PoolSafe.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.
  • Knowledge of aquatic operations, social, cultural, and recreational needs, and principles of public aquatic centres.
