About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Manager to lead our Web teams and drive the development of innovative software products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fostering a productive and engaged team environment, translating business objectives into clear team and individual goals, and ensuring the highest possible quality product for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective team management strategies to drive productivity and engagement.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to define project scope and objectives, and provide leadership and vision.
- Translate business objectives into clear team and individual goals, and into a clear, innovative and inspiring technology roadmap.
- Carry out sound planning of human resource needs in software development, identify and fill gaps, and ensure a good balance between project needs and the development of our resources.
- Ensure proactive and effective communication at all levels and mobilize teams.
- Anticipate problems and difficult situations and take the necessary steps to resolve them.
- Act as the main technical contact with other technology teams.
- Work with the team to determine technical feasibility and ensure the highest possible quality product for the customer.
- Identify opportunities to reuse and optimize code components.
- Define and implement production support to identify and help the team solve technical problems in our applications.
- Continuously evolve development practices, tools and processes to increase team autonomy and efficiency, and ensure they meet our digital leadership objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in team management.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in project management.
- Bilingualism (French and English) - Requires regular interaction with colleagues across the country.
- Solid experience in delivering products in Agile/Scrum mode in software development.
- Mastery of the following concepts and technologies: Java, Angular, Kotlin, Swift, REST Architecture, Microservices, JSON, Git.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in software development.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence and achieve consensus.
- No Canadian work experience required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
