Job Summary

The Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in a community health setting. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with clients of all ages, and/or adults and transitioning youth with developmental disabilities, to provide occupational therapy services and promote functional independence and occupational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess client's cognitive, perceptual, self-care, physical, and leisure status to develop a comprehensive care plan.
  2. Collaborate with client/family/caregiver and other healthcare professionals to formulate treatment goals and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
  3. Prescribe and recommend specialized and adaptive aids and equipment to clients for activities of daily living, and educate clients/family/caregivers and staff on independent living skills and occupational performance.
  4. Coordinate rehabilitative services with the client and other health service providers, and act as a client advocate by providing information and liaising with funding agencies and community resources.
  5. Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, and maintain patient records and reports statistics to accepted standard.
Requirements
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists.
  • Two (2) years' recent, related clinical experience in a community or home health setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
