Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Counsellor to join our team at Back in Motion Rehab. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing psychological treatment and support to clients enrolled in our Occupational Trauma Program and Occupational Rehabilitation Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate education classes, relaxation training groups, and individual psychological treatment/counselling sessions within the context of the Occupational Trauma Program.
  • Develop and implement individual treatment plans, write reports, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with our interdisciplinary team that includes Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Counsellors, and Kinesiologists.
  • Provide short-term, one-on-one psychological support and empirically validated treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to clients enrolled in physical therapy.
  • Experience with pain management and working with individuals with physical injuries is necessary.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of the practice of counselling in a rehabilitation environment.
  • M.A. in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
  • Excellent skills in providing short-term psychological treatment/counselling and skills training.
  • Knowledge of effective pain management strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a rehabilitation context.
  • Experience working with third party providers.
  • Experience treating clients who have experienced trauma would be an asset.
