About the Role

The Refrigeration Lab Technician plays a vital role in conducting laboratory testing and experiments to facilitate the development and improvement of refrigeration systems and components. This position requires a strong passion for Refrigeration and a fundamental proficiency in Excel. Experience in refrigeration piping design, electrical wiring, brazing, and/or piping is considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in lab activities, including motor testing, system testing, system build-up, and prototype assembly.
  • Evaluate the performance, efficiency, reliability, and safety of equipment and design.
  • Work closely with certification agencies and perform testing per applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with other members of the department and company on R&D project development.
  • Operate various data acquisition equipment.
  • Organize and maintain documentation for lab test results.
  • Maintain the laboratory and perform any other lab testing and product design work as required.
  • Work with outside vendors for product testing/development as needed.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • College or post-secondary education or trade certificate.
  • Experience with commercial refrigeration equipment.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge and experience.
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in refrigeration piping design, brazing, or piping is considered an asset.
  • Proven team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and interest to learn all things refrigeration.
