We are seeking a skilled Vocational Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide individualized employment services to clients recovering from mental illness, helping them achieve their goals of returning to the workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate clients' vocational needs and develop employment plans tailored to their preferences, needs, and abilities.
- Collaborate with community employers to facilitate access to competitive employment opportunities, promoting a stigma-free environment.
- Coordinate client intake into supported employment services, ensuring timely assessment and orientation.
- Conduct job development, direct marketing, and job search activities, maintaining up-to-date information on labour market trends and job marketing techniques.
- Provide ongoing support services to clients, including vocational rehabilitation counselling, group meetings, and on-site job coaching.
- Monitor clients' progress, revisiting goals, highlighting accomplishments, and re-evaluating goals as needed.
- Participate in case, team, and industry meetings, presenting relevant materials and contributing to the Centre's initiatives.
- Ensure the coordination of clients' departure, ensuring file closures and referrals to community resources as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in an applicable social or health sciences program and two years' recent, related experience providing vocational rehabilitation counselling and job marketing/development to individuals with mental illness.
- Eligibility for certification as a rehabilitation professional with a recognized association.
- Valid B.C. Driver's License - Class 5 and personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
