The Town of Paradise, a rapidly growing municipality in Newfoundland and Labrador, is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of equipment, including front end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and other motorized equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including front end loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with 08 and 09/09A endorsements for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Minimum of three years' experience in operating heavy equipment.
- Post-secondary Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program an asset.
- Previous experience in operating drop frame side loaders an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
