Join our team as an Electrical Technician and contribute to the delivery of high-quality electrical services in a rapidly growing organization.

About the Role

This is a skilled electrical position that requires the installation, construction, alteration, repair, maintenance, and servicing of electrical equipment and systems.

Responsibilities
  • Install and repair electrical wiring and equipment; alter and repair circuits; make connections to equipment and appliances.
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring and equipment failures and system problems.
  • Carry out electrical safety inspections on equipment, appliances, motors, and controls; ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Review work requests and consult with user departments regarding specifications and other project requirements.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material and equipment required; calculate materials and labor in estimating cost of projects and make recommendations as required.
  • Prepare for work projects by arranging work schedules with user departments and assembling supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Recommend detailed improvements to facilities in all areas of responsibility.
  • Develop, implement, and assure performance of preventative maintenance and quality assurance programs in all areas of responsibility.
  • Requisition materials and supplies and advise on optimal warehouse stock levels.
  • Maintain routine work activity reports and records.
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, and installation specifications.
  • Liaise with external consultants and/or workforces as needed to ensure work proposed/performed meets hospital and/or regulatory standards.
  • Participate in continuous Quality Improvement activities to enrich and advance various processes through the effective use of resources to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia.

Two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
