An Agronomy Assistant role at Prairie sky is a great opportunity for a student in agriculture looking to gain experience in the agronomy field.

The successful candidate will get a chance to gain in-field experience working closely with agronomists, growers, and other industry professionals.

We are looking to add a qualified individual to our team for the 2024 season which will run from beginning of May until the end of August.

Although not required, we do accept students participating in a CO-OP program with their school.\r

Responsibilities will include:
\r

\r
\t· Scouting fields and identification of weeds, insects, and disease\r
\t· Assisting in bulk seed treating\r
\t· Delivery of seed and chemical to growers\r
\t· Shipping and receiving of seed and chemical\r
\t· Soil sampling\r
\t· Assisting in management of test plots throughout the year\r
\t· Assisting in creating work orders for custom ground and air applications\r
\t· Mixing and support for aircrafts and ground sprayers\r

Qualifications\r

\r
\t· This role is ideal for a student enrolled in a post-secondary agronomy (or similar) program\r
\t· Hard working and willing to work in a team setting\r
\t· Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed\r
\t· Willing to work in various settings (ie: in field and office)\r
\t· Valid class 5 drivers license\r
