What you'll be doing

Collaborate in small teams and work in a low supervision, high ownership environment.Produce multiple projects, delivering high-quality, engaging experiences within allotted time frames.Collaborate with developers, designers, and artists to create and enhance features across all aspects of the experience, including XR functionalities, UI elements, animations, audio, physics, and rendering.Generate ideas and solutions for improving functionality

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate has commercial experience developing games or applications for VR, with an attention to detail and a dedication to creating high-quality products. They should be proficient with industry-standard software tools (documentation, bug tracking, version control), and have a strong understanding of the production process and best practices.

Must Haves:

5+ years of industry experience working with Unity or other game frameworks Strong competency in C# and must have a passion for programmingStrong knowledge of SOLID principles and coding good practice Experience working in an Agile development environmentStrong understanding of the UX design process and working alongside the UX design teamVirtual Reality / MR / AR development experienceBroad knowledge of game architecture and technologies (gameplay, ui, etc.)Experienced with shipping applications or productsProficient in the use of source control (PlasticSCM, Unity Collab, Git) and source code management patternsStrong understanding of real-time rendering and rendering bottlenecksAbility to integrate with external plugins, APIs, and librariesAbility to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple processes or development pipeline involving various technologies

Meta Quest/Rift experience specifically Education/Training software or serious game experience Experience working with story-based or dialogue centered applicationsHave published applications on an app store, online platform or console (Applabs)Experience creating Unity AssetsExperience with (2d or 3d) animation or 3d modeling experienceSound Design experience (if they make their own sound assets then great)Lighting and Rendering experienceLevel design/creation experienceUnity render pipelines and shaders (HLSL/ ShaderLab) experienceNetworking or multiplayer experience (e.g. Photon)Understanding of CI/CD processesDeveloped applications using RESTful APIs

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field.

Location

Aequilibrium is remote-first, and we continue to have quarterly in-person engagement events to nurture a healthy AEQ culture. Depending on your role, you may be required to be on-site from time to time to support the needs of our business.

Compensation

The typical salary range for this position is: CAD $90K - $120K annually. Salary offered will be based on skills, experience, and market data. We offer a competitive overall compensation package with remote work, unlimited access to training for up-skilling with Udemy, fully paid for comprehensive benefits, and an opportunity to work with a talented team and exciting emerging technology.
