Position: Data Science Intern, Technologies and

Schedule: Monday to Friday (hybrid mode possible)
Contract: Full-time during the summer + potential part-time during the school period
Compensation will be determined based on the number of credits obtained at the time of the offer. If you earn additional credits during employment, you can discuss it with your supervisor for a salary adjustment.

Job Objective
The incumbent of this position will work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the development and implementation of statistical and data science solutions to address various industrial operational challenges.

Main Duties:
- Provide support for the development and implementation of data-driven solutions to solve real industrial problems.
- Support operational activities with expertise in statistics and data science.
- Support the effective introduction of generative AI to enhance productivity and performance in relevant application areas.
Activities:
- Collect and clean data from various sources, such as databases, files, APIs, the cloud...
- Analyze data using statistical and computer tools, such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, JMP, Statistica, etc.
- Extract and interpret data to generate visualizations or analyses to identify trends or behaviors in the data.
- Create descriptive and predictive models or machine learning algorithms to solve operational or optimization problems.
- Support training for non-specialized personnel.
- Visualize and simplify analysis results using dashboards, reports, graphs, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
- Enhance and automate internal data and operational workflows using Power Platform or specialized tools.
- Support the development and maintenance of functional, accurate, and accessible documents.
- Assist in developing internal policies and procedures for effective data governance practices.
- Support the promotion of a data-driven culture within different cross-functional teams.

We are looking for university students from undergraduate to postgraduate with the following required skills:
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or Industrial, Chemical, or Biochemical Engineering or related fields
- Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or Bioinformatics students with a strong interest in pharmaceutical industrial applications or Industrial, Chemical, or Biochemical Engineering students with a strong interest and basic training in statistics or data science
- This role requires a good understanding of the fundamental principles of statistics and data science
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective time management skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and responsibilities of increasing scope and complexity
- Quick problem-solving ability and seeking innovative solutions
- Reliability and punctuality (high professionalism)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge in descriptive and inferential statistics, probabilities, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Multivariate SPC, database management; basic knowledge in data engineering, data cleaning, data exploration, data visualization, data modeling (machine learning and deep learning models), model deployment, update, and maintenance, process engineering...
- Toolbox: Python, R, SQL, Azure, Power Platform, JMP, Statistica, OSI PI...
- Bilingualism (English and French).
- Prior experience in data science in an industrial context
