What can I expect to do in this role?
About the Job


As part of the Land Transfer Tax team you will process land transfer tax rebates and refunds for personal real estate transactions.

Every day will be a little different, but you can expect it to include activities like:

  • reviewing legal documents and other related materials for real estate transactions to ensure compliance and make tax, penalty and interest determinations
  • performing audits to identify non-compliance
  • communicating with solicitors and taxpayers to request documents, respond to inquiries and provide interpretations of legislation
  • maintaining and organizing your workload to meet deadlines
  • participating on projects
How do I qualify?Analytical, research and judgement skills:You have:

  • analytical and research skills
  • ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies, rulings and precedents
  • proven attention to detail and accuracy
  • judgement and decision making skills
Specialized knowledge and skills:
You have:

  • experience explaining the application of legislation and encouraging voluntary compliance
  • the ability to make tax, penalty and interest calculations and determinations
  • auditing skills and experience
  • critical thinking and knowledge of documents related to the conveyance of land and the ability to identify discrepancies
Customer service, teamwork and communication skills:

  • you have proven customer service, teamwork, and communication skills
  • you can provide sound advice and direction to clients
  • you can establish trust and excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients
Organizational and computer skills:

  • you have the ability to use computer applications and systems
  • you can efficiently manage your workload and establish priorities
