Job Summary:

As a Continuing Care Assistant, you will work with clients in their homes to provide personal care, assist with daily living activities, and provide respite care. You will also plan and prepare meals, light household duties, and help with mobility and transfers.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care to clients in their homes
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as grooming, dressing, and bathing
  • Provide respite care to clients and their families
  • Plan and prepare meals and light household duties
  • Help with mobility and transfers
  • Monitor and maintain household safety
Requirements:
  • Continuing Care Assistant Certification (CCA)
  • PSW, HSW, etc. certification from another province or other relevant certification or work experience
  • Current CPR/First Aid required
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
