We currently have an opening for an Electrical Estimator to join our team in Vaughan. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing and planning competitive project pricing for tendered and planned electrical upgrades and retrofit projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working within a team to perform quantity takeoffs
Assemble all elements of an estimate including labour, material, equipment and subcontractor pricing. - Preparation, review and submission documents to ensure all bid requirements are met
- Gather information for labor breakdowns in each area to assist with budget creation and management of project
- Attend and participate in site-visits, pre-bid meeting and post-bid meeting as required.
- Participate in estimating turnover meetings with project team to assist planning and budget process
- Establish strong relationships with suppliers and sub trades to ensure sound and competitive pricing is received
- Collaborate and independently review project schematics to strategize on best approach for submissions
Job Requirements
- 2-5 years experience in Electrical Estimating
- Proficiency with MS Excel for complex energy calculations
- Proficiency with MS Word for development of high-quality reports
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written
- Self-motivated with strong willingness and ability to learn and be challenged
- Works effectively in team environment
- Maintain positive customer interactions and value the customer experience
- Client focused and proven relationship building skills
- Ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure
- Values time commitments and punctuality
- Experience with Electrical / Mechanical wiring estimation is considered an asset
