Job SummaryThe Mental Health Nurse Coordinator will provide a complex range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment, and case coordination services to the community mental health and addictions population seen at the Urgent Care Centre. The incumbent will provide program consultation and coordination, evaluation of clinical interventions, supervision, and professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing leadership and clinical expertise in the development and maintenance of community mental health and addiction treatment programs
- Ensure nursing practice standards are maintained
- Provide program consultation and coordination
- Evaluate clinical interventions
- Supervise staff
- Provide professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources
- Minimum of three years of experience within the last five years working in inpatient mental health and/or community mental health and addictions services
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of major mental health disorders and addiction issues
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Registered/eligible with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS) or Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
- Workplace Assessment & Violence Education (WAVE)
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
