About the Opportunity

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Community Transitions team in Central Zone. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide consultation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up services to clients in the community, focusing on their occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and caregivers. They will also be a member of the Community Occupational Therapy - Physiotherapy Team and liaise with Continuing Care, multidisciplinary hospital care teams, and community agencies and service providers.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist with a graduate degree from a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist, with community experience being an asset. They will also possess current certification in CPR, BLS-C (HCP) Certification, and a valid Nova Scotia driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for home/community visits.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, with competencies in other languages being an asset, particularly French. They will also be able to maintain current certification in CPR and BLS-C (HCP) Certification.

Hours and Compensation

The position is a Permanent Full Time role, with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $42.89. The successful candidate may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
