The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance, with a strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare and record monthly journal entries, provide support for quarterly close, and prepare income statement variance analysis.
- Financial Process Improvement: Collaborate with business partners to investigate and resolve issues, and monitor account reconciliations for aged items.
- Regulatory Reporting: Support IFRS 17 reporting, check OSFI quarterly files for errors, and complete quarterly analysis for senior management.
- Internal Audit and Control Testing: Assist with Sox testing and internal audit, and partner with internal and external auditors.
- Treasury: Download bank statements, verify and process policyholder claims, and monitor and reconcile Peoplesoft cheques.
- 3-5 years of related work experience with an accounting/finance designation (CPA/MBA/CFA/other)
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven self-starter with excellent time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong attention to details and intellectually curious
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of accounting standards (US STAT, US GAAP, IFRS)
