Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and record monthly journal entries, provide support for quarterly close, and prepare income statement variance analysis.
  • Financial Process Improvement: Collaborate with business partners to investigate and resolve issues, and monitor account reconciliations for aged items.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Support IFRS 17 reporting, check OSFI quarterly files for errors, and complete quarterly analysis for senior management.
  • Internal Audit and Control Testing: Assist with Sox testing and internal audit, and partner with internal and external auditors.
  • Treasury: Download bank statements, verify and process policyholder claims, and monitor and reconcile Peoplesoft cheques.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of related work experience with an accounting/finance designation (CPA/MBA/CFA/other)
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven self-starter with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong attention to details and intellectually curious
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (US STAT, US GAAP, IFRS)
